Use case 4

Understand it first. Then read the textbook.

A textbook chapter is written for someone who already half knows it. Lecturized tells the same chapter in plain words, with a drawing where one is needed, so you form your own picture of it; then the original reads like a book, not a wall. The goal is comprehension, not a substitute.

Why the second reading does not help

Every sentence leans on the last

Miss one definition on page two and page five is noise. Reading it again from the top brings you back to the same wall.

Written for the initiated

The textbook explains in the language of the subject, which is what you came to learn. It cannot be its own key.

No way to check

You read, you nod, you turn the page. Nothing tells you whether it landed until the exam does.

What the lectures do instead

Tell it plainly

The same chapter, told the way a good tutor would at the kitchen table: what it says and why, with one drawing where words fail.

Make the understanding yours

Short questions after each part, with a hint and a worked answer, so that it is your version before you go back.

Point back to the book

Every part says where it is in the original. You return with context, and the textbook starts to make sense.

Set it up like this

  1. 1

    Level 4, then level 2

Ideas and examples first, to get the shape of the chapter; make it again with the formulas explained when it holds.

  2. 2

    The patient tutor

The lecturer who stops to explain and never assumes.

  3. 3

    Study aids on

Questions, solutions and hints after every part, with the place in the book.

Upload the chapter you are stuck on

The plain telling is ready in a few minutes; the questions come with it.
